Accreditation Systems Review Discussion paper released

The Accreditation Systems Review (ASR) discussion paper cites the previous work of the SIF Project Team (see page 40). Click here to access the document.

The paper raises a specific issue in relation to interprofessional education:

Issue 13: How best could interprofessional education and the promotion of interdisciplinary practice be expressed in accreditation standards that would reflect the priority accorded to them?

The SIF Project Team are currently drafting a submission. Written submissions are due COB Monday 1 May 2017.

ANZAHPE 2017 Conference

Members of the SIF Project Management Team will be at the 2017 Australian and New Zealand Association for Health Professional Educators (ANZAHPE) Conference in Adelaide from the 11 – 14 July 2017. We have submitted presentation abstracts for consideration by the conference organisers, and will have a SIF Project stall where you can meet members of our team and discuss the project. More information about the conference can be accessed on the official conference website : http://www.anzahpeconference.com.au/

Constituting the Project Reference Group

Letters of invitation have now been sent to our proposed Project Reference Group (PRG) members. The PRG will consist of an eminent group of national and international educators, health professionals, health policy professionals and research academics who will offer support and advice to the PMT. The PRG will meet with the PMT at regular intervals (we anticipate three to four monthly intervals) to offer insights, advice, commentary etc. In previous projects we have greatly appreciated the diverse and experience based comments of PRG members. We have also asked PRG members to advise on and contribute to the dissemination of project materials and reports. The focus of PRG activity will be built around regular updates from the project lead, which is then used as a focus for reflection and discussion. We have previously talked of the Reference group as a ‘critical friend’. Based on previous projects, we have found that the contribution of this group of experts has been invaluable. The first meeting of the PRG will be in early 2017.

SIF Project Management Team meeting in November

On the 24th of November the SIF Project Management Team (PMT) met in Sydney, Australia. Two members of the team, currently overseas, joined in on the meeting via video conference. The focus of the meeting was on the intended project results, activities, success factors and risks. A substantial part of the day was also concentrated on stakeholder partnerships, and discussing project activities for the remainder of this year and early 2017. Updates regarding these activities will be disseminated in the new year.
